 | I went to confession this morning |
Nothing happens by chance. My bigger handbag`s handle breaking, having to take my very small one not being able to fit in the usuual. yet small prayer book, but the even smaller one from where i read in the Duomo, after Confession and before Mass, the Saint Francis Prayer and the following one by JP II ''left in Italian, dont have the official English translation'' - holding the Rosary. Yes the confession. It was also about my limits in socialising with others, my fear of having or hurting some when, for the lack of topics of conversation, i tend to withdraw in myself. Fatehr said that it is a scheme i build myself and, he used the word limits, in order to break it, i must not look at men, but always at Jesus face. Reread the Gospel he said ''he kept repeating every few words. `are you following me?` very supportive as i felt very emotional and quiet'' and ask yourself what did Jesus do and what would he do? Jesus being fully men and fully God....then the sermon was among other things on how, before the descent of the Holy Spirit, the disciples were miles from being perfect, being pharisees proud doubtful ''yesterday`s sermon, on Paul who was sworn enemy of the Church to begin with and Peter who so often doubted, and yet was made the rock, supported by the constant holding onto the sight of Jesus as he dared stepping out of the boat''...fully human...looking at Jesus...being called to be active...in that booklet, given to us by some friends of the Militia of the Immaculate, the very first words i read as i sat on the pew waiting for Mass looking on the one side to the statue of Santa Maria de` Pazzi on the need to get close to her, becoming similar to her so that we can take actively part to the environment where we normally live and open hearts to her'' And i was thinking how fragile she was as a very young woman only 14 when she conceived Jesus the God head...in my mind the two statues of Mary holding baby Jesus and the adult Jesus on the cross on the two sides of the altar in Santa Maria Maggiore...her a fragile and yet perfectly strong made vessel by the very descending of the Holy Spirit, God making Himself man. A small tiny baby that gradually grew and got stronger in wisdom. Two other images popping up that of David by Michelangelo. The guide says that waht he wanted to show is how the simply `brutal animal force` ''overpowering statue, and yet the original historical David was fairly short'' is superceded by the true winning forces, the gifts of being astute and intelligent and that can make us winners over Goliah . The beast that threatens to sneer us and the others...all called to fight for the others. Father told me to say 5 Our Father focusing remembering that the will of God is not for me to doubt but to be stronmg, have Faith. Carrying Jesus like Mary carried him then becoming his first disciple., treasuring all the words...but how much did Jesus learn as a human from that specially God created vessel, Mary? Yes the second one. That of one of the Prigioni by Michelangelo, the first one on the right as you enter the hall. Freeing himself from the constarints of the marble block that is imprioning him...''the last on the same side before David is a Piet?..Confession..Father also said in the sermon that we must not come to church to seek solace from our crosses, but always to praise the Lord...from our crosses i`d add...todays` Gospel was about unning our race till the end i think''.
