God`s and Men`s Oaths Hebrews 6:13-20
When God made the promise to Abraham,he swore by his own self,since it was impossible for him to swear by anyone greater...Men,of course,swear an oath by something greater than themselves,and between men,confirmation by an oath put an end to all dispute.Here Men`s oath explains and confirms positively the invariability of God`s himself oath.,but not beyond it. For Hebrews frequently cites the Old Testament in order that he proves that Jesus is Christ,then you must read in the contexts of the Old Testament his demonstrations.Anyway Jesus forbits oaths of human beings in the Old Testament.James obeys Jesus perfectly(5:12).

Why is it evil to use oaths?
Swearing is offensive to the Lord. Only the Lord can make ANY guarantee. Our swearing by anything or making any kind of oath is fraudulent because we are only here due to God`s love and mercy. It is only because the Lord wills it that we are here this very second and He can and will take that away if He chooses. So who are we to curse or swear?

Why is it evil to use oaths?
It is said clearly by Lord Jesus Christ that the names we use for taking oaths are beyond our usage as heaven is the throne of God to mention and earth is the footstool of God too to use for any oath and the fact that we are God`s creatures does not allow us to use our own names in oaths.

Why is it evil to use oaths?
We are calling the name of the Lord in vain if we swear by Him or His City or what is his inferior but yet His creation - the footstool. I understand that we would put ousrelves in a position of superiority as well as how can i say it betting our alliance to Him. Promise to do this implying if You God do that otherwise...we would turn to the devil. Also it is our responsibility when we commit our intentions on a certain matter. We are called to use responsibly our free will in dealing with our fellow human beings etc etc. abiding by His Commandments.

Oaths

"Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, 'You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,' but I tell you, don't swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can't make one hair white or black. But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
