"You are the Messiah (alt: the Christ), the Son of the living God." ( Matthew 16:13-20) For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, my Beloved, with whom I am well pleased." We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven, while we were with him on the holy mountain. ( 2 Peter 1:16-18) "Therefore let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified." ( Acts 2:36) Jesus said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "The Messiah of God." ( Luke 9:18-27) "Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God." ( John 6:60-71)
