What made Jesus` teaching so attactive to tax collectors and prostitutes? The Tax collectors and the prostitudes know that they are sinners and they come back to repent to be forgiven while the Pharisees feel holier than they are and keep walking proudly in market places.

Why did Jesus answer a question with a question, rather than just telling the Pharisees by what authority He acted? The Pharisees intentions are read by Jesus before they would talk. This is the reason to why Jesus wanted to drive them to his point by asking a question to answer their question whose answer they really knew before asking.
