What made Jesus` teaching so attactive to tax collectors and prostitutes?

Jesus teaching was attractive to this category of persons because they saw hope for their redemption. Jesus did not judge them by their deeds but rather by their willingness to repent and be saved. Jesus gave them an opportunity to see themselves as worthy and equal.

Why did Jesus clear the temple in such a dramatic manner? Why did not he try to accomplish the same thing more diplomatically?

Diplomacy would not have worked in the height of such sacriledge. The people had lost respect for the House of God and needed to be reminded in no uncertain terms what it was and what it stood for. It seems to me that this contrast between Christ the diplomat and Christ the indignant man is just what the situation called for to demonstrate the seriousness of the situation.

Why did Jesus choose to make His entry to Jerusalem in a humble manner, riding a donkey?

Through out His mission on earth, Jesus taught humility. He was now nearing the end of His journey and needed for people to remember one of His most important messages ''humility'', by demonstrating it ''leading by example''.That was a most powerful way of etching the message in the minds of all His followers.
