Jesus knew what he was about to go into, he knew it was going to be painful, and full of grief for many. But God knew it had to happend. Only God is able to count the many blessings we accept and in accordance the many sins we perform on a daily basis. Do you know how much sin there is in the world? Do you or can you count them all? God alone can. Thats why God sent his faithful son to die for us. Without that imagine where we would all be today. If God had just let the 'cup pass' as Jesus asked, this world would be full of sin and sinners. We would be destruction to everyone and everything. God has plans, and in order for us to be with him soon we are asked by him to fulfill his wishes (plans). The difference between Peter and Jesus is one of them is God and one of them is God's Creation. God (Jesus) knew what was in Peter's (Gods Creation) mind, heart and soul. God predicted as he presumed. He knows our daily routine, if i may. Because he laid it out for us. If Peter didnt deny Jesus the three times as stated, he would not have truly believed. This had to take to place for a purpose, so that Peter would see that Jesus was The Son of God indeed. Peter thought he was deserving of God in every way, he knew in his heart how he felt about God, hence the reason for his emphatic denying about Jesus. But little did he know what he was about to do. There's no doubt he felt bad, and wanted to re-do everything, but it had to take place for him to truly believe. Who else other than God our Father knows what we are and not to do before we do it. This was Jesus' way of showing Peter who he was and is.
Why did not the Father let the cup pass and spare Jesus the pain of the crucifiction?

Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?
