Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Yes, Jesus believes that lowly people are valuable for they are the ones most likely to enter into the kingdom of God.

In Mark 12:41-44 he refers to the contribution made by the poor widow, she gave all she had whereas the rich would have given freely from their surplus. Also in Luke 1-1 he states that when you give a luncheon do not invite your friends neighbours , brothers or your relatives least they invite you and repayment come to you. But invite the poor the lame and the blind and you will be blessed since they cannot repay you and you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous

Define "Compassion"?

When I look at the meaning of the word compassionate, i get words like sympatheic, concerned, kind, considerate and caring. All of the above words can be used to describe Jesus. He was sympatheic to our pain and suffering, he was consistenlty kind, he was always putting the needs of others first, hence he was considerate and most of all the biggest act of kindness anyone one has shown to date, is that of Jesus dieing on the cross, so that all our sins may be forgiven. That to me is the true definition of compassion.
