约翰所著的耶稣传记——大祭司盘问耶稣 大祭司就以耶稣的门徒和他的教训盘问他。 (18:19) 耶稣回答说，我从来是明明地对世人说话。我常在会堂和殿里，就是犹太人聚集的地方，教训人。我在暗地里，并没有说什么。 (18:20) 你为什么问我呢？可以问那听见的人，我对他们说的是什么。我所说的，他们都知道。 (18:21) 耶稣说了这话，旁边站着的一个差役，用手掌打他说，你这样回答大祭司吗？ (18:22) 耶稣说，我若说的不是，你可以指证那不是。我若说的是，你为什么打我呢？ (18:23) 亚那就把耶稣解到大祭司该亚法那里，仍是捆着解去的。 (18:24) 约翰 18:19-24

The High Priest Questions Jesus
The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching. Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret. Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said." When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, "Do you answer the high priest like that?" Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?" Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest. John 18:19-24
