路加所著的耶稣传记——耶稣使五千人吃饱 使徒回来，将所作的事告诉耶稣。耶稣就带他们暗暗地离开那里，往一座城去，那城名叫伯赛大。 (9:10) 但众人知道了，就跟着他去。耶稣便接待他们，对他们讲论神国的道，医治那些需医的人。 (9:11) 日头快要平西，十二个门徒来对他说，请叫众人散开，他们好往四面乡村里去借宿找吃的。因为我们这里是野地。 (9:12) 耶稣说，你们给他们吃吧。门徒说，我们不过有五个饼，两条鱼。若不去为这许多人买食物就不够。 (9:13) 那时，人数约有五千。耶稣对门徒说，叫他们一排一排的坐下，每排大约五十个人。 (9:14) 门徒就如此行，叫众人都坐下。 (9:15) 耶稣拿着这五个饼，两条鱼，望着天祝福，掰开，递给门徒摆在众人面前。 (9:16) 他们就吃，并且都吃饱了。把剩下的零碎收拾起来，装满了十二篮子。 (9:17) 路加 9:10-17

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida. But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing. The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, "Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place." But he said to them, "You give them something to eat." They said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people." For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, "Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each." They did so, and made them all sit down. He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over. Luke 9:10-17
