马太所著的耶稣传记——逃到埃及 他们去后，有主的使者向约瑟梦中显现，说，起来，带着小孩子同他母亲，逃往埃及，住在那里，等我吩咐你。因为希律必寻找小孩子要除灭他。 (2:13) 约瑟就起来，夜间带着小孩子和他母亲往埃及去。 (2:14) 住在那里，直到希律死了。这是要应验主借先知所说的话，说，我从埃及召出我的儿子来。 (2:15) 希律见自己被博士愚弄，就大大发怒，差人将伯利恒城里，并四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔细查问的时候，凡两岁以里的，都杀尽了。 (2:16) 这就应了先知耶利米的话，说， (2:17) 在拉玛听见号啕大哭的声音，是拉结哭她儿女，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。 (2:18) 马太 2:13-18

The Escape to Egypt
Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him." He arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called my son." Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men. Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, Matthew 2:13-18
