Brief Life Summary: Who Was Jesus Christ?
Home > History and Time Line of the Life of Jesus > Brief Life Summary

Jesus (also called Christ which means king or Messiah) was born in Israel 2000 years ago. Modern civilization marks his birth by dividing time B.C. (before Christ) and A.D. (Anno Domini - or the year of our Lord). For his first thirty years, Jesus lived a traditional Jewish life, working as a carpenter. During this time, all of Israel was under Caesar's Roman dictatorship, including Bethlehem, where Jesus was born, and Nazareth, where he was raised.

In his thirties, Jesus began his public teaching and display of recorded miracles, yet still never travelled more than 200 miles from his birthplace. Over a three year period, despite his efforts to keep a low profile, Jesus' reputation spread nation wide. The Roman governors and rulers of Israel's provinces and the leaders of the Jewish people (the religious counsels) took note of him. Jesus' key messages included:

Many have asked "Who is Jesus Christ?" Jesus' most controversial act was that he repeatedly claimed to be God, which was a direct violation of the Jewish law. Therefore the religious leaders asked the Roman government to execute him. In each of several official trials, the Romans found that he was not guilty of breaking any Roman law. Even the Jewish leaders recognized that other than Jesus' claim to be God, Jesus followed the Jewish law perfectly. Still the religious leaders, using the argument of political disfavor, persuaded Pilate, a Roman governor of the Southern province of Israel, to authorize an execution.

Jesus was brutally tortured and then hung by his hands, which were nailed to a horizontal wooden beam (cross). This method of execution restricted the airflow to his lungs, killing him in three hours. However, according to more than 500 witnesses, Jesus returned from the dead three days later, and over the next 40 days journeyed in both the southern and northern provinces of Israel. To many, this was conclusive proof that Jesus' claims to be God were real. Then Jesus returned to Jerusalem, the city where he was recently executed, and according to witnesses, he left the earth alive by rising up into the sky.

As a result of these miraculous events, the number of his followers increased dramatically. Only a few months later in that same city of Jerusalem one record states that some 3000 new followers were added in a single day. The religious leaders responded by trying to stomp out Jesus' followers. Many of these people chose to die rather than deny their belief that Jesus was truly God.

Within 100 years, people throughout the Roman empire (Asia Minor, Europe) became followers of Jesus. In 325 AD, the following of Jesus, Christianity, became the official religion of the Roman Emperor Constantine. Within 500 years, even Greece's temples of Greek gods were transformed into churches for followers of Jesus. Although some of Jesus' messages and teachings were diluted or miscommunicated through the expansion of a religious institution, Jesus' original words and life still speak loudly for themselves.

The Lowly - How Jesus valued them
First to Jesus everyone belongs to God. What Jesus endeavoured to show, according to me is that though the society segments us in different aspects after all we are all the same. And this augments the fact that Jesus really believed that the people we brand lowly are actually very valuable. We derive also a very important that judgement only belongs to God. We should not judge by their class, we never know what lies in them and neither do we how we can significantly change there lifes. Jesus knew this to well. Image a morale-booster he was to the tax gatherers and sinners, for them to know after all someone accepts them. What a lesson was it for the disciples to learn that the innocence is heavenly. The lesson of being a servant first tells all. I think the cliche you have to serve before you can lead stems from this. I would believe the more lowly you get sometimes the better for your learning. You simply cant learn when you are the top. The poor woman who so little Jesus says she give the biggest. Why is that?? the lowly are more valuable because they give with their hearts and not in a showcase tell-it-to-all of the society`s top. What a relieve was it for the Samaritan woman to learn she can be appreciated even by a Jew. I tend to think there existed the kind of animosity we see between the Arab world and Israel.Imagine a people from two nations shaking hands freely. What a scenario? And that what exactly Jesus wanted to show. I wish we could genuinely draw lessons from His exploits today.

My Brief Summary of Jesus
Jesus died for me & my sins even though He is all powerful & the King. He suffered & bore pain and torture because He loves me so much. This is the one fact that keeps me firm in my belief that nobody can love me like my God loves me & with His love in my life, I will never be sad.

My Brief Summary of Jesus
I Know that Jesus was in the begining with God. God send is only begotten son Jesus, to teach mankind how to live and worship God through him. Jesus came an earth as on example to man, he did not have to go through what he had being through, but he did it for love of his father and for us. Jesus when to calvery to died for our sins, but in todays world some people think they came on this earth by themself and that nature and man rules the earth. Some people today think Jesus is yet to come.

My Brief Summary of Jesus
Ordinarily reading the story of Jesus` life, one would think it as a well written story by a very imaginative writer. But is is not an ordinary story, but the sacrifice of God Himself to send down His son to die for our sakes. Jesus agreed to be born into a middle class family, and had shepard`s manger as his birth place. He was tempted by the devil when He was weak from fasting, and prevailed. He was rejected, stoned, sort after to be killed, pursued by crowds of people for healings all the time. Yet He never complained, but continued to show love and compassion. Finally hanging on the cross, He asked that those killing Him should be forgiven! It is an unbelievable tale, but very true.I believe.

Jesus birth was according to the scripture. He was not just a man. He was God. His birth was for the remission of sin, which was not possible by any ways or mean of man. Prophets of Old testment prophesed the birth of Jesus Christ. We cannot consider Jesus Christ as any other religious teachers.

My Brief Summary of Jesus
My brief summary about Jesus is that He just wants us to look to Him whenever a circumstance occurs. Whether good or bad we must always look to Him. I noticed that He brings our joy back. I used to live in self-pity blaming other people for my misery but soon understood that I was under the devils spell. which is being discouraged. Jesus has set me free. and now i am happy.
