How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him? a New commandment?
He considered the two as inseparable. However, one can only be intimate to Jesus if he/she invites Him in his/her life. And anyone who invites Jesus into his/her heart will not be disappointed because Jesus will surely come to this person. But how can one show his/her love to Jesus? It is by following His commandments... Personally, I think this is aNew commandment because in the time of Moses, only the Israelites can be intimate with Yahweh...On the contrary, Jesus revealed to us through the New Testament that anyone: Jews or Gentiles are welcome to receive God.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
Though I want to ask a lot of questions like the details of creation, heaven, earth, underworld and the new heaven and earth; i will just probably be too be overwhelmed to talk. I guess i would just stare at Him, digesting every detail of His image, capturing a picture of Him on my mind so I would remember it forever...and I would surely invite Him to another meal after.

Re: Scott Dudley
You are right. We are required to spread the word. I happened on a blog recently whereby a question reported the difficulty of leading others to Jesus in a clearly and atheistic West where money and material aspirations outweigh spirituality by the masses. A given answer illustrated the difficulties faced by the disciples of Jesus. They managed to spread the 'Good News' despite widespread persecution of Christians unto death. Surely it is easier today than in their day.

Rev. 3:20

Jesus shows some rather interesting things in Rev.3:20: 1. This was part of His messages to the seven churches[General message first]

2. He is knocking at our door/heart/mind of all members of the seven churches [Private/Personal message next]

3. We first have to be aware of His knock(This can be unheard due to cares of life; unwillingness to live according to the commandments; etc.

4. Once we are aware of the knocking, we have the choice of opening our door/heart/mind toJesus ....... or we can choose not to open the door, to our eternal hurt.

5.Jesus states that once we open the door/heart/mind to Him, His intention is to enter into a personal, intimate relationship with us.

Everything thus revolves around us......our awareness of Jesus and our response to Him.

He is definitelydoing His bit...how are we doing  with ours?

Invite Jesus to be close to you
God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.

God created you. Not only that, he loves you so much that he wants you to know him now and spend eternity with him. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."1

Jesus came so that each of us could know and understand God in a personal way. Jesus alone can bring meaning and purpose to life.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
Jesus has the character that I always desire since I started this bible study. Trully , if I were given the chance to have one -on-one meal with him. I would beg him two or three things 1. I would beg to shower me the spiritual gift of spreading the GOOD NEWS , shower me the power of healing sick people. 2. I would beg also him to come to stop wars in countries where there are wars because our friends in these areas do not have enough time to praise GOD as most of the time they run away from one place to another seeking for refuge.
