Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Loving one another just the same as you loved God.And Jesus call it a new commandment because it summarizes the ten commandment and if you love one another it will follow everything. like you can never do any bad things to your brothers and sisters because you loved them. Loving a person that is unlovable and unworthy for love is so difficult yet if you loved them with all your heart just like Jesus loved them its worth the effort because we are here to help those people to loved themselves, to know God and to acquire salvation. Jesus also call it a new commandment because we are now in the time of grace and the salvation is not only for the jews but as well as for the gentiles and for everybody..

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Jesus calls this a new commandment because when he came he had to change the old way of relationships which could have been based on pay back of what people get from others.Jesus wanted to show that He had brought a new commandment based on Love nom matter whether we are benefiting from a relationship or not. Love is the very asis that Jesus mission to the world was based upon.The very torturing experiences He went through can only be withstood out of love.By suffering like this Jesus showed a new way of loving and relating to one another. God is Love and so is His Son Jesus Christ.It is because of the Love God had for the world that He send His son to die and redeem us.It is only through pure love thta one can sacrifice His child and that is what God did.Jesus wanted to show the world a new meaning of man`s relationship with God -a rellationship bound by love-the love without bounders-the love which is not based on materal things. This new commandment was to be for the sustainability of Jesus work in this World.If we love God with all our hearts , souls nad mind we will not sin and if we sin we will realise and repent.If we love other people we will do good to them and establish a good relationship with them and by so doing we will be Loving God and Establishing a lasting relationship with Him. Jsesus came and lived in the world and He understood the socail problems that man faced -hatred, jelouse, material desire, and many others.Jesus knew that in pursuit of these wordly material man is likely to love materail things than God and more so hurt his feloww men more. The new law of Love was a Bencmark Jesus was establisng for christians.A benchmark which can be achieved by everyone wther rich or poor.Love is priceless and all can afford it whether rich or poor.Jesus wanted this to be the sign of christianity-it was to be the workdly sign of Chistianinty which would diffrenciate Christians from non Christians-by loving all regardless of their origin, faith skin color etc. Love was and is the simple or bantch of chsitianity.It is the ID CARD FOR CHRISTIANS WHICH DOES NOT REQUIRE SCREENING TO GET-IT IS STRAIGHT FROM OUR HEARTS-HEARTS ARE A COMMON ATTRIBUTE FROM EACH OF US;LET LOVE PREVAIL IN THE WORLD-AMEN

Because He wants us to love one another, so that we can be one. He said: Love you neighbour as yourself just as I love you. Jesus wants to show us how important it is to LOVE one another. He`s actually telling us , that if we don`t have love, we cannot have Jesus in our lives.

Because it wasn`t in the Ten Commandments it was considered a New commandment to be added to the other ten...if we follow this commandment, Love one another, it will take care of the other commandments.

Jesus calls Love One Another a New commandment in the sense that Jesus summarizes & simplifies 6 of the original Ten commandments. This enable us to understand more of the Laws of God. By simply Loving One Another, automatically means following the 5th to the 10th commandment.

A commandment makes any statement an order which no one wants to disobey.To love each other is not an easy task as it is said`.The man who is always self centered and self oriented finds it extremely difficult to love another person the way he wants to be loved by others..And even if he loves , it will not be genuine for the emotion of `lust` is mixed with it..In short, man is materialistic.. Jesus made this mandatory to man so that he obeys his teaching..hence it is been said as a command.
