Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Jesus call Love one another a new law why? My understanding of the Bible on this matter have to do with the behaviour of human being toward their sinbling in the old testament where eye was for an eye which mean when you do me wrong i repay you. But jesus in his statement said when men slap you on one chick, turn the other.. not paying debt. we ought to love one another, showing love concern and compassion toward each other and this is the only ay the world will know us to be Christ followers therefore it has become a new commandment contrary to what we learnt in the pass.

I think that prior to Jesus` coming, the Jews` adherence to the Old Testament Law ''the 10 Commandments'' had become a legalistic striving to obey the rules and prove their own righteousness. In many cases, their desire to please God was twisted into efforts to justify themselves, to prove they were more righteous than their neighbors, to point out sin in others. In fact, the whole effort became more self-centered than God-centered! Jesus turned the whole thing on its head. He pointed out that it is not about making yourself look more righteous--the way of righteousness is to LOVE others. And to love them is to serve them, to put their good above your own. He said this, and then He did it--with His life, His actions, His death on our behalf. This upset the whole social/religious hierarchy in their day, ''literally and emotionally!''!

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Jesus wanted us to see each other as equals, if we were poor or if we were enemys we were to see each other as brothers not superior to each other in any way.The Ten Commandments taught us alot but they did not teach us how love each other as equals.

Love teaches us to be compassionate one to the other as Christ was. Love covers all the other laws.

Love one another
It is not that the commandments is new, but with Jesus, the emphasis is place love instead of keeping the 10 laws Jesus made a new covenant for us to keep the two most important law to love God and to love others as ourselves. Love is the new covenant or agreementa Christ brings. If we love others we would not want to hurt them, as ourselves shows the extend to which the love goes. The law and the prophet depends on these two. Love is the theme and God has written such love on our hearts. It was love that cause God to send Jesus to die for our sins .It was love love tha mke Jeus was willing to lay down his life for our sins when he went to Calvary. He could have turned back but he was obedient even unto death.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
This is the greatest commandment that we must love one another. Jesus said, love your neighbour as yourself and love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Love is very important for us as believers. Without love we cannot pretend to be followers of Jesus. To love your neighbour is to put everyone first instead of ME first. As the bible say`s Love your enemy and feed him if he si hungry and give him water if he is thirsty. The bible forbids hatred for true believers. Sometimes we wonder how to love other people who are unlovable. Through my experienced, in my country sudan There is a hatred between the south and north people. it is very difficult for both sides to love each other and forgive each other. And this has a direct effect to the faith because if you love God and you are a true believer then you must love your enemy. The bible said God created us in his image. then if i hate someone then i hate God. It is very difficult to love an enemy and even forgive that enemy. Then here forgiveness comes first and then love follows. If we love one another then we reflect Jesus and we are true followers of christ. To love and serve each other. To be the servant of all, then we must have a servant hearted.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
God showed His love for us by sending His son.His son also displayed His love by healing, preaching and also washing the feet of His disciples.He also wanted the legacy of love to remain with His disciples by telling them to love one another.this would also attract the non-believers to convert when they see this display of love amongs believers.

Hello dear friends, To me love is the reason as to why we are called God`s children today.Because when the bible says that there`s greater love than to lay down your life for others.To me the reason for us to be called God`s children is because for he loved us so much and he send his only beggoten son to die for the whole world.Love is giving and b`se he loved us he gave that`s why the bible say that what you love other people to do for you first do it for them as you can see in today`s lesson and also another scriptures says that we should love our neighbours as we love our selves.''Mat 22:37'' So love the overall issue of our bieng.

Love one another a new commandment....
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. That is what they were accustomed to. Jesus wants to share who He really is.....Love. He loves us and wants us to love others, ourselves and most of all Love God, His Father, our Father.
