Jesus condemned sin but He did not condemn the sinner. He did not condone sin. Sin separates man from God. It is because of mankind being separated from God by sin that Jesus died on the cross. | Did Jesus condone sin as a human being? |
Jesus never condoned sin. Jesus does not approve or sin. He died for the sins of mankind. If sin could have been condoned, He wouldn’t have died. The New Testament Bible teaches that the wages (salary, payment) for sin is death. It cannot be condoned but, rather, a price must be paid in death to nullify mankind’s sin. Jesus paid that price with His own death. However, Jesus did not condemn those who sinned. He offered them grace and freedom from sin by dying on the cross for the sins of the world. His redeeming blood paid the price for sin. The first chapter of the Gospel of John in the New Testament shows that Jesus came into the world to reveal the darkness of mankind – to shed His light on the sinful state of man. Sin cannot be hidden from God. He condemns sin but He does not condemn the sinner who turns to Him to receive His forgiveness. When the adulterous woman was caught in her sin, Jesus did not condone her act. He forgave her sin but asked her to sin no more: "And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn you: go, and sin no more." (John 8:2-11 NKJV). Click here for an article related to this topic. | Did Jesus forbid war? |
According to the New Testament Bible, Jesus neither forbad nor condoned war. Jesus came to free man from sin. War is caused by sin. Jesus came to reveal sin so that men could be saved and live in harmony. But Jesus also claimed that His radical sayings would bring division among men because some would not believe them. He came to bring peace within, knowing that on this earth there would be trouble without. By: Editors Category: Who goes to Hell? (1) Comments |

| How often did Jesus pray? |
The New Testament Bible does not record precisely how many times Jesus prayed but in a sense He prayed all the time. He prayed every day. He probably prayed every moment within His heart since He chose to remain dependant on the Father. In the New Testament Gospels, we see Jesus praying often – day and night, and sometimes all through the night. He would pray everywhere He went. He spoke to His Father in prayer about everything. He was obedient to His Father and heard His Father’s will by seeking Him in prayer. By: Editors Category: Who goes to Hell? (1) Comments |

| Did Jesus teach others to pray? |
Yes, Jesus taught others to pray. In the New Testament. Click here to see Jesus teaching others to pray. And also here. Here is a prayer Jesus taught His disciples recorded in the Gospels in the New Testament: He said to them, "When you pray, say, 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on Earth, as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins. for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'" And here is more that Jesus taught His disciples on prayer: He said to them, "Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,' and he from within will answer and say, 'Don't bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give it to you'? I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs. "I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won't give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he won't give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?" (Luke 11:1-13). | Who goes to Hell? |
All who choose not to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior go to Hell when they die. According to the New Testament Scriptures, man is condemned to eternal separation from God because of his state of rebellion, wrongdoing (sin). If we do not turn to God in repentance (sorrow over our wrongdoing)--and if we don`t receive God`s Son, Jesus, as our Savior and Lord--then we are doomed to perish. But there is good news for mankind. God sent His Son so we could be saved: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If we are not saved through Jesus, then we are condemned--just like the rich man seen in Luke`s Gospel chapter 16, verses 22-23: "The rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments." This passage found in John`s biography of Jesus goes on to explain more clearly what it means to be saved: "For God didn`t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn`t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn`t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God" (John 3:17 21). All that is required to be saved is that we recognize we have done wrong, and we turn to Jesus for His mercy as did the publican man in Luke 18:13: "God be merciful to me a sinner." No one needs to go to Hell. Each person has the opportunity to turn to Jesus and receive His forgiveness. By: Editors Category: Who goes to Hell? (1) Comments |
