What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people today still afraid to identify with Jesus?
Peter was afraid, for all those gathered in the court were not believers of Jesus. Peter did not want to be persecuted as Jesus was, and denied Him 3 times.

Peter was afraid because he thought he will also face the music together with Jesus. Peter was trying to please the people and that he forget the miracles performed by Jesus. The Spirit of God was out of Peter and his acts were in flesh. What Jesus says alwalys come to pass. Even today many people are afraid to carry the bible or accepting Jesus as lord and saviour for fear of being rought at. Some are saying the same massege was preached long time ago and Jesus is not God but the one of the prophets. Let me say that we should watch out and proclaim the good news of Christ because Jesus is coming anytime.

Peter was afraid of death. For since they can have the mind to do torture Jesus of this nature before him ''Peter'' how much more he who was cannal!! Sin was one of the reasons, many so called xtians are afraid to be identified. Another thing is persecution which is everywhere today, even in your family they will also persecute you. For I have seen parents who told their child to choose b/w Jesus and shool which one to follow.

Peter afraid
Because Peter didn`t know Jesus more closer, and he don`t have a holy spirit to make him confess that Jesus is a teacher. The same with people right now, they don;t have a holy spirit and didn`t believe and put their hope in Jesus, so they scare with this world. Beside that there are many people who said I am a christian but didn`t act that they are a christian by they behaviour.

Peter was influenced by the world and what other men thought instead of a steadfast commitment to Christ. He was trying to follow Jesus, BUT FROM A DISTANCE. Peter was afraid, unprepared to face the challenge of ridicule and persecution. People today are still afraid to identify with Jesus because of wrong priorities, knowing of Jesus, but not committed wholeheartedly and faithfully to Christ. priority

Peter was afraid because he was in the flesh, if fear enter ones mind, the enemies will use that opportunity to denied you of your faith, and Peter right then, was totally out of the spirit, just worldly human being, without spirit backup then. And one look at our midst today we can see a lot of Peter's like, some people are afraid to die for Christ, to be at the war front is not easy; but one must ?take the risk to over the obstacles' that is what Christ did for us, and we as a soldier of Christ must follows his steps. For some people is cause of the care of this life, material things, food and shelters, but the bible said `whosesoever keep his life shall lose it and whosesoever lose his life for the son of man sake shall find it.`

Peter`s fear of rejection and being killed made him so afraid to be identified with Jesus. I think the reason why there are still many people today feel afraid to identify with Jesus because of their lack of faith.

Peter was afrais because of violent prosecution that Jesus was undergoing at the time.He was afraid that the same treatment would be metted out to him if identified with Jesus. People in the world today still fear to be identified with Jesus because they fear they will be prosecuted, laughed at or considered abnormal.The world then did not believe nor acceot Jesus.The world today still does not believed nor accept Jesus.

because he was afraid to die and for people not to like him. many people deny Jesus b/c they do not want others not to like them, its so sad people would not die for the Lord, he died for our sins...is it too much to as to lay down ur life for his name...and try to love him as much as he did us.......

i think that peter was afraid of the beating. and he saw what jesus went trew. i think the reason for most of us is that religion is a very personel subject.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, "You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!"
But he denied it before them all, saying, "I don't know what you are talking about."
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him, and said to those who were there, "This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth."
Again he denied it with an oath, "I don't know the man."
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, "Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known."
Then he began to curse and to swear, "I don't know the man!"
Immediately the rooster crowed. Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." He went out and wept bitterly.
