He really lost it. The third time... Then he began to curse and to swear... Panic and pain and anger and needing to rethink the future. Jesus the Son of God captured? destined to the cross? what will happen to them? how can they win? he needed to think of Jesus mission and fully make it his own after the panic and deep pain. And come fully to life by fully living it.Only in his Light your own life takes full meaning :''

What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people afraid to be adentified with Jesus?
Peter was scared of his life. He had witnessed what they did to his master, and he thought by accepting to be one of His, he could have been seized. Peter denied Jesus out of fear, but he loved Him. People today deny Jesus because they want to fit in society. Present day society terms devotees as backward, ignorant, failures, sick etc. People tend to create a gap between spiritua affairs and the way they want society to see them.

This is also an example of what is to come. We all will be persecuted for our faith. It is Peter who paid this price for us. We have to be brave when the time comes, and not deny Jesus as our saviour.

He`s a coward and was afraid of being persecuted. He had no gut to stay together with Jesus to go through difficulty and even death.

What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people today still afraid to identify with Jesus?
Peter was so afraid to be identified with Jesus because he feared for his life, he did not want to go through the punishment that Jesus went through. He felt that if he honoured Jesus he would be scoffed and treated badly. People today are still afraid to identify with Jesus because they feel that once you are working with God, others must not associate with you, you are criticised because you are following God`s path, you are too good. But the best path to follow is God, wherever he leads me I will follow and I am proud to be his best friend, even though sometimes I might forsake him like Peter , he has never forsaken me. Brothers and sisters walk in the path of the Lord.

What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people today still afraid to identify with Jesus?
Well, I think Peter was afraid to be taken to court and punished for being a disciple of Jesus or even knowing him. So many people are afraid that the world will look down at them for being a christian and persecute them because we know God and his word. To the world someone who gets down on his or her knees to pray is a sign of weakness. But we have to remember even thou we are living in this world we are not of this world for our home is in heaven with our Heavenly Father and his angels. Amen!

Fear of consequences made peter deny the truth.Just like us when we are caught in a tight corner, Peter refuses to admit the Truth. The Bible tells us that the Truth will set us free , so let us strive to tell the truth.Imagine how angry we get when we discover that someone has lied /cheated us! and this is what we do to God, whenever we fail to identify with the calling he has Called us to!Yet he is so kind and loving, and Always forgives us , even when we fail.!Thank you Jesus for loving us so, and for forgiving us even when we so openly deny you.

Peter Disowns Jesus

Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, "You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!"
But he denied it before them all, saying, "I don't know what you are talking about."
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him, and said to those who were there, "This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth."
Again he denied it with an oath, "I don't know the man."
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, "Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known."
Then he began to curse and to swear, "I don't know the man!"
Immediately the rooster crowed. Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." He went out and wept bitterly.
